Description
The property is located 1.6 km from the Strait of Magellan, on the shores of the Silva Palma Estuary, in front of Carlos III Island, in the Region of Magellan and Chilean Antarctica. It has 20,608 hectares surrounding the Francisco Coloane National Maritime Park.
The property has 14 lagoons, a lake of 1.9 km and a river of approximately 5. 4 KM approximately, in addition to areas with native forest and abundant pre-Antarctic avifauna, such as marine species (southern dolphins, humpback whales, sea lions, elephant seals and visiting species), terrestrial species, such as a large population of huemules, culpeo foxes, pumas, otters, wild cats and rodents, along with 47 species of birds, where the Martin Pescador, Yunco, Caiquen, Condor, among others, stand out.
It has no land access, however, it is within the Public Works plan, and can be reached by sea and air by helicopter.
The sector has a high tourist value based on the biodiversity of the sector, being the only place in South America with Humpback Whales, high scenic quality, the constitution of a biological corridor for marine animals and great ecological tourist projections.
